Welcome to Specialist Spotlight, a new series where I share the coaches and teachers who shape how I train. Good trainers never stop learning, and this is my way of showing you where my ideas come from.
First up is Conor Harris, a strength and movement coach whose course I’m taking right now.
Who is Conor Harris?
Conor is a San Diego–based coach with a background in kinesiology. He has worked with pro athletes and everyday people alike, and today he spends much of his time teaching other trainers and therapists how the body really moves. You can find him at conorharris.com.
What I’m learning
The biggest shift for me: Conor looks at the body from the skeleton first, not the muscles. Instead of asking “which muscle is tight?”, I’m learning to ask “how are the bones lining up?”
When the alignment is right, people get back space in their hips and shoulders, and their range of motion follows. My goals for you haven’t changed. I still want you moving freely and feeling strong. I’ve just found a better way to get there.
I love that it’s not about endless rehab exercises, either. We still lift, build strength and work hard. The movement gets better along the way.
I’m only halfway through the course, so think of this as a first look. I’ll share more when I finish.
What it means for your sessions
- I look closely at why something feels off, not just where it hurts.
- Your strength work also helps you move better, so every session does double duty.
- Your plan fits your body, not a generic template.
I’m a trainer, not a medical provider, so if you’re dealing with pain or an injury, please see a clinician too. I’m happy to work as a team.

Feeling stiff, stuck or just curious? Book a session and we’ll start by looking at how your body moves. Or come try my free weekly Nordic 4×4 group workout.
Thanks for reading! Next time I’ll introduce another specialist whose work I admire.
